announcements, fic for grabs, interested?

sweptawaybayou's friend Renee and her six kids recently lost everything in a fire (article here, further details also at fire_fic). To help them out, Snow and lostakasha are running the comm fire_fic, where you can bid on authors to get them to write a fic of your choice, or you can offer yourself up to write something.

I'm doing both. If there's something you want me to write or work on, my info is here. I'm offering up anything, from working on WIPs to writing for smaller/obscure fandoms or fandoms I've never written in before.

Go take a look at the authors offering themselves up at fire_fic, see if there's anything you're interested in, if there's anything you can offer to create, and if you feel like helping someone out. It's a beautiful thing going down there.

You do not have a tiny dried up walnut heart, sorry. I just think this is such a brilliant thing you guys are doing. I haven't been on lj (or ij either) much this past week or two, so I haven't commented, but I've been watching and it's been renewing my faith in humanity. I don't have that much in the way of cash, but I'm definitely going to be making some bids. I'm looking forward to seeing the results--firstly I hope this will really really help Renee, and secondly (selfishly), I want to see all the fic that gets produced! My thoughts are with Renee for her tragedy, but also much with you and Snow for helping us to find ways to help others.

I have more chapters of the fic, I've just been so down lately I haven't felt like posting them. A bad, bad fic-purveyor am I.

I know you've been feeling a bit down yourself--I've been ghosting over the old flist even if I haven't been participating much. It's a time in my life right now I hope will pass. I'll post about it soon and include you on the filter, since you're concerned. That means a whole lot to me, that you asked and that you care, I hope you know. I hope you yourself are feeling better these days!

Also, feel free to email me whenever you like. About anything or everything--if you're concerned but also if you're feeling down or if you have nothing at all to say. We may not be omgbestestfriendsever!!!1 but that doesn't mean we couldn't ever be. What I'm trying to say is, I'm interested, I care about you, and my door is always open. Don't hesitate. I do too often and I wish I wouldn't.
